I hit a wall with florals after this and moved on to Chanel 19 around age 17/18, but my aunt from Poland was here on an extended visit 1988-1989, and she fell in love with this and it's been her signature ever since.
I remember going to Poland with her the summer of '89 when she went back.
The note of carnation with its spiciness gives the floral heart slightly peppery accord.
The final notes are gentle with powdery heliotrope, pink sandalwood and transparent musky notes. (review from a man, tested on my girlfriend) It is almost a good fragrance… The opening with the green note and the slightly peppery freesia and sage is absolut wonderful, but half hour later the flowers overwhelm everything.
The flowers that I can smell every time both then and now (I wear both the vintage and the newer one) are marigold, rose, freesia, jasmine, heliotrope, carnation, violet, lily of the valley and narcissus.
These are namely white flowers so this is a very sedate white floral.
This was a daily fragrance I wore to work as a public educator.
I received compliments mainly from other women - on the street, in the grocery store, at school, at Church.
At times this scent reminds me of Estee Lauder Pleasures which has that same catching whiffs of flowers air.
The accord of carnation and lilly is beautiful, but this part of the fragrance is too flowery with my male nose, and I have some trouble with some accords. The base notes are good, the combination of sandalwood, musk and amber is well composed, but nothing spectacular.
The lily of the valley, and narcissus are too much for me, and the narcissus always made me headache and cause nausea. - I guess this one is a classy 4 season daytime scent, very versatile - sillage is surprisingly good, longevity around 7 hours on skin - safe blind buy Scent (open, top-mid): 6/10 (x2) Scent (drydown, base): 7/10 (x2) Sillage: 7/10 Longevity: 7/10 Uniqueness: 7/10 Versatility: 8/10 Total: 6.875/10 I remember when this came out in 1988, I was 16 at the time and mostly wearing Ysatis.
The heliotrope here is not as prominent and seems to want to replace a vanilla note. This is perfect for a woman between 30-35 years who is very neat/ clean and calm. The persistence: 8/10 Silage 7/10 Please note that I am new in testing and reviewing fragrances so that my reviews are not pro at all. The longevity is immense, and will cling to you for "eternity".
This is a very nice green floral and has a retro charm I love. It has a feeling of timeless and of unique freshness. This is truly the queen of fragrances-- a one of a kind classic. A true timeless masterpiece by genius perfumer Sophia Grojsman. the assisstant girl who helped me in doing my hair was wearing it on..
